Woken up by a certain smell, one I couldn’t distinguish
I found something strange in my bed,
something I don’t remember leaving there.
A key. And not just any key, one that was floating in the atmosphere.

What could it possibly unlock?
And how is it that it can float?
Did I maybe wake up in Witchstock?

I take it and look across my room
expecting to see a witch with her broom.
However, I saw nothing of the sort,
not a witch nor her Supreme court.

A sudden light of a mystery box is in my sight
Its divine light, shining immensely bright.
I finally unlocked it and ended up here,
It’s me now floating in the atmosphere.

Grabbing cassettes all around me,
each one of them a film of my memory,
what used to be, old friends, lovers, old feeling and old smells.

I play them on repeat and start to miss the past,
How did it manage to pass me by so fast?
I no longer have fun but start to long, long for something that isn’t there anymore.

I woke up, for real this time
and recognized the smell,
it was nostalgia all along
and not Alice’s wishing well.

I hoped I could stay there for longer
until my attention was caught,
my thoughts-long gone
and some new memories were sought.
